Paul has been qualified as a British member of the PGA for 21 years and has a wealth of knowledge and experience in coaching, retail, playing and many more facets related to the wonderful world of golf.
He has been our club professional since 2008 and enjoys teaching golf to all abilities with a focus on working with golfers as individuals, not from a single theory, expecting it to work for everyone. His aim is not to over-teach, but to set realistic goals that are fully understood so that practice time is used constructively.
Interestingly Paul has worked as a golf commentator for a member of the Brunei Royal Family and has interviewed a number of sports stars from around the world.
He was also previously chairman of the Suffolk PGA and Vice Chairman of the PGA in England East.
“Haverhill GC is a great club with friendly members along with staff who work tirelessly to give members & visitors an experience to enjoy! I have a fantastic team working with PGA Qualified Professional Ollie Rush, an excellent coach, who offer retail and golf services information.
We run an annual Pro Am event and the visiting professional always complement our greens as being among the very best they have played.
I love being the Club Professional at Haverhill Golf Club as every day is different, bringing new and varied challenges. Finally, for the many potential members and visitors to the club my team and I look forward to helping you experience "Haverhill's hidden gem"
PGA Professional and Academy Manager
Ollie graduated from the University of Birmingham in 2010 where he was awarded the TGI East Region Assistant of the year recognising his achievements in his final year. Since then he has continued to study for his Advanced Certificate in Golf Coaching and currently, his UKCC Level 3 status.
Ollie has worked with the Lee Westwood Golf School for young golfers based at Stoke By Nayland where he had the opportunity to spend time with 2016’s top performing tour coach, Pete Cowen.
Ollie undertakes a predominantly coaching role launching Haverhill Golf Academy in 2016 and Love Golf to promote participation for ladies.
He has also introduced the Golf Foundation's Junior Passport for creating an exciting and enjoyable environment for young golfers to enjoy playing and learning and Get Golfing for men looking to take up, or improve their game whether that be lowering scores or increasing enjoyment.
“Men, ladies, juniors, young and old, able or disabled, everyone requires something a little different from a coach, it’s my role to understand each player, their learning requirements and their motivation to provide a service which allows them to take control of and enjoy their improvement process. This may take place on the driving range with video and ball flight analysis or equally on the golf course where performance really counts.”
